Teacher given one month to leave Thailand, for fake degree
« on: December 21, 2006, 07:48:59 pm »
You can decide for yourself if the story is true, but if it is, it's news.  The original was posted on ThaiVisa,

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=97810

Also it is posted on ajarnforum.net

Fake degree, discovered, and basically deported and blackballed for two years, even though he has wife and family here.

What do you think?

We are all aware that there sems to be a purge of sorts going on at this moment in time ::).

Some of the action is aimed at schols and some at individuals, however I find it strange that a W.P. was isued under doubt regarding qualifications :withstupid:.

Possibly the accused is but a pawn in a power (money ) struggle between school and corrupt officials :jumpcig:.

I can certainly vouch with confidence that three schools to my certain knowledge grease the wheels of authority by employing members of the education ministry as "consultants" on a lucrative part time basis {j<o>.

Perhaps the poor teachers school would be well advised to pursue this particular course of action and thus ease thir problems and indeed the accuseds problems :readit:.

I find this story very hard to believe. Why would the MOE and MOL give this person a WP and TL then later say they were aware that it was fake? Also the fact that this person had been teaching in Thailand for a number of years already and held a WP and TL. It all sounds a little strange to me and I think there is more to it than meets the eye. Although it goes back to previos threads about fake documents. If you get caught then you must accept the punishment if any. I for one have no objections to people " teaching" with a fake degree but have no sympathy for them if they get caught.

I know of cases firsthand where teachers were issued with TLs and WPs which were then withdrawn when the MoE claimed at a later date that their qualifications were found to be "fake".  As far as I know, they probably were fake as none of the teachers concerned (I know of at least three) took the issue any further.

None of the teachers concerned were asked to leave Thailand, they just returned the WPs and went for a new visa.  They all currently have WPs - employed by the school's sister company in various positions :D

Perhaps the original post was by a troll, and totally false.  Or, it was so fourth-hand that we do not know what happened.  It makes no sense.  The original thread on ThaiVisa is closed pending information that can be verified.

Tempest in a teacup, maybe.  Or, maybe the tip of the iceberg.

Yes the part about asked to leave is the bit that strikes me as fishy. Like you Here I have known of teachers with the same experience. I will add that I was knocked back till I could prove my documents were original but at least I was given the chance to do that.

I hope that all you unbelievers start thinking again after you've read this http://www.teflwatch.org/forum/index.php/topic,841.0.html thread.

BTW I used to work with this guy. A good teacher me thinks. And yes, he still had the WP and TL when he got arrested, i.e. it wasn't revoked b4 his arrest. He got two month to leave Thailand. You gives a shit about his Thai wife and their two children.

He lied to the school, with that I strongly disagree but the way the whole action was executed is disgusting.
