I recently came to Casma, Peru with anothe English teacher to volunteer my time in a "orgainzed profesional school". However, when I got here I was demanded to give $450 for accommodations when the ad reported free logging. I have had much stress here and have been harrased by the director.
Do not trust anything that Little schools of English says. There is no real school here. He just has an agreement to teach the daughter of a resort owner, in return for free accommodation, that he will charge you for as soon as you send him confirmation of your airline ticket and he knows that you are committed to coming. He even claims to be a proffesor at San Francisco State University, but I did my research and he is only attending as a student.
Once you get here you will be put on the spot and forced to sign contract. This contract is not worth the paper its written on, it will be changed on nearly a daily basis and you will be requested to do research assignments for him - most probably, the assignments that he was meant to be doing for the online masters in Educatuion that he is completing at San Francisco State Univeristy. There is no curriculum. For the past six months he has simply being teaching the children short and long vowel sounds.
He is also using the children to procure funding grants which he is not spending on the school as there is nothing here, as I said no curriculum, nothing, the whole thing sinks.
