Ek Burapa
« on: September 01, 2006, 09:05:29 AM »
Hi,
I am thinking of applying for a job at a school in Minburi called Ek Burapa.
Does anyone know anything about this school?
Look forward to hearing from you.
Good

According to some of the parents, it's the best of a bad lot locally - which isn't saying much.

Run by a certifiable egomaniac ( ex-politician or something, but no search results on the net...Hmmm) of a Director who, sad to say, possesses VAST INCOMPETENCE in this his latest and greatest field of endeavour. Sum up: enough to give most other politicians a bad name.

Note: Sept '07 Apparently higher salaries and a bit less obvious bull are keeping enough staff and students there to keep things running, but you'd have to be desperate - and I guess that's why Sarasas teachers are voting with their feet and going there.

I might be wrong but as I know he used to be the head of Ministry of Education.

As I understand it from some local Thai teachers he was formerly with the Demonstration School at Kasetsart University in some staff capacity or perhaps they meant his wife - the one with the money.
Anyway, despite stories of the Director being somewhat sidelined recently(i.e. appearing at the school only two days a week) because of all the trouble he has been causing, he still has enough hubris and clout to fire a good experienced teacher whom he was friendly with in the middle of the term for not agreeing to sign a 12 month contract. With friends like this...
