Anybody recommend any good free web hosting sites?
« on: July 27, 2006, 02:15:27 PM »
Just wondered if anyone could recommend a good free web hosting site(s) out there. I did use bravenet.com for a while but the account features were very limited (no apache, mysql etc) and of course it had adds.

Free webhosting? None of it seems any good anymore. I guess a lot of people are using Blogspot because everything is starting to go to blogs or so it seems. Everyone and has dog and cat has a blog nowadays.

Setting up a blog on blogspot is really very straightforward.

I've begun working on a personal study blog & a more specific technical blog. The blogspot tools are very useful - it is a breeze & a lot of fun.

Exactly, time have changed a bit. Blogspot is still pretty good. Don't overlook Google Pages as well. They have a pretty nice website design. With very little difficulty you can have a decent site up. Combined with great services like photobucket for image storage and Youtube for video storage, you can put together a pretty good site for free these days. I always suggest taking it one step further with a domain. They are under $10 pr year these days.
