3 great movies

Name three great movies, don't have to be your favorites, just three movies you like.

Three great movies are:
- Shawshank Redemption -- Sometimes you gotta through sh*t to find your paradise.
- Smokey and the Bandit -- My sons love it.
- George of the Jungle --Again my sons love it.

One of my sons loves copying Buford T Justice's line about somsab*tch.

Three of my favourite movies have to be:

Blade Runner- As it was just so ahead of it's time and it's based on a book by Philip K. Dick
Once a Upon a Time in the West- One of the best westerns ever made
Blue Velvet- David Lynch's best work

"Seven Samurai" - war is sometimes necessary.
"Paths of Glory" - war is often senseless.
"Dr. Strangelove" - war can sometimes be hilarious.

Here goes, here's my three:

Menace II Society - powerful stuff
Casablanca - just 'cos I could watch it again and again and again without getting bored!
Godfather Trilogy - Just magnificent (although part 2 is a much better movie than the others)

One flew over the cuckoo's nest, damn good stuff. Never met Ken Kesey, but my great uncle was neighbors with Ken Kesey in Pleasant Hill, Oregon, had dinner with the genius many times, and the stories that were told, even fascinating second hand.

Some good films posted have to agree with Shawshank and Godfather but may I offer:-

Million Dollar Baby? - A brilliant story about life. I was so surprised at this movie's greatness after all the hype, usually the hype doesn't match the product but in this case it does.

The Green Mile - A superb production with a deep message.

Some Like it Hot - A wonderful comedy with iconic actors.

:( Found the new Spielberg film,Munich, very disappointing film after all the hype. WHat are your thoughts on it?

I saw this movie at the cinema yesterday. I too was very disappointed. I thought the story at times didn?t really work; it was too long (for the amount of story they had) and in many places quite confusing. Also I didn?t like the look of the movie. However the acting is generally good. Overall I would give it 3 out of five, but I was expecting a lot better.

1.  Kelly's Heroes--The list of stars is too long to list.

2.  Stalingrad--A german film with English subtitles--way better than Private Ryan

3.  Trainspotting--Has given me a better understanding of people from the UK

I was lucky enough to met him in a book signing in Dublin. Didn't have any of his books so brought my treasured copy of Timothy Leary's "Neuropolitique" instead. Asked Ken if he's mind signing it and he said, "I'd be proud to sign that!" ................class guy.

1. The Battle of Algiers - Resistance movie about the Algerian-French war.
2. The Wickerman - Wonderfully weird horror
3. Napolean Dynamite - Kooky yank comedy

bought all of these in Bangkok as well......
