“A bad workman always blames his tools!!!!!!”

Well from what I can see, as a teacher our job is to teach and the tools we use are schools!!!!!

Maybe we should look at our own abilities before we criticize the things around us. If you work hard, respect the fact you’re in another man/women’s backyard and really enjoy the job, everything else will just seem petty!!!!

As to the comments about the grades, yeah, true, everyone passes!!!! Not saying its right but that happens in every school in Thailand!!! Not really fair to give a student an honest mark if everyone else in the country will gets top grades!!!! This part of the culture I don’t like, but unless the whole country changes that’s just something you have to do!!! But, going back to my opening point, a good teacher will get the best out of any student (good or bad), encouraging and teaching to the point that the student will gain a high grade on their own merit!!!

Fair enough Pommie but I disagree with you 100% about not telling a teacher they are going to be observed. It's what's called a common courtesy, especially if you are physically going to be sitting in on that teacher's class.

I wouldn't like it done to me and no one ever has.

I don't know but I am kind of leery of the school. As soon as a post was made, people were on attacking the former teacher and then when that failed they came on and ganged up with "postive" comments. It makes me leery of the school. I see a couple of former teachers saying to stay away, a bunch of current teachers saying that school is awesome, and what looks to be a nice person, maybe the director (or ?) saying that his school is the best. I don't know much and frankly I don't care, it just seems like a school I should pass on. I personally like being told when I am being observed, it is common courtesy. In fact, even the ECC contract states that you will be told in advance of observations.

I was terminated without cause 48 hours after receiving a 38 of a possible 42 on my evaluation.  It was at a "Hall of Shame School."  So these are just some of the tools they can use to breach their contract with you.  If they want you out, for whatever reason, they can do it.

Am I correct on this issue? This is the first year that M4 to M6 got MEP computer lessons.

Maybe the conflict is created because sw2 is not ready for "computer sessions". Yes they told the parents they are.....and collected the fee, hired a foreigner, but forget to have the equipment ready for the teaching and then blames the foreigner for complaining that nothing works....

Funny too that so many supporters of the school are new members to the board..... and that the character and lingo of each post is very much the same..

I don’t know who to trust, but the way the original poster is attacked shows me that something is not correct at the spot….

I've moved a handful of posts away from this thread to here:

http://www.teflwatch.org/forum/index.php?topic=449.0

Basically, you now have a new thread for teachers that wish to snipe after or bicker about other teachers!  This thread contains only the posts that are discussing problems or otherwise at the school.

Teachers wishing to bemoan or, as in the latest case, blatantly slag off other teachers can now do so in the "sour gripes" forum {-}
