What does it take to work legally in Panama?
« on: June 30, 2006, 10:31:41 AM »
I would like to take my next gig in Central or South America...any opinions or advice.  I'm leaning toward Panama but I have not been able to find out much about what is required to work legally only that it is easier to do visa runs every 90 days and work on the sly.  Not really something I'm keen to do!

In most of Latin America, work visas are hard or slow to come by, but from what I have heard, they are a bit easier to come by in Panama and Panama is more business oriented. Costa Rica is over run by many tourists looking to extend their stay but Panama seems to have decenet wages and working conditions, by Central American standards.

I looked into Panama 4 years ago.

They wanted an American passport for most jobs. Eventually they sent an email saying Brits were ok.
