My daughter can speak fluent English because my relatives can't speak Thai. Then I found out that most of the 'gifted kids' in English are selected even before the exams because of their connection(s).Some Thai teachers at Bodin don't even care if the students can understand the subject taught or not because what is important to them is the after-school special class that they can earn moreThis is what I was talking about regarding the after school classes. They are fixed and it is terrible. This is not the Farang teachers. There were two students who were children of the Thai teachers and they failed a test by the Farang teacher in charge but he was told they have to pass. There were too many on the gifted program for them to be gifted.

My wife's sisters kid goes to this school and i heard that the head of the English department runs an after hours school at Welplace across from the school where they give you all the English test and exam Q & A in advance. Is this what you are refering to? Apparantly it's very popular with the students but i don't understand how schools can get away with this kind of thing.Does the ministry of education not regulate these places or impose standards?

Well mate your dead right on what goes on at this school. when you speak to some of the Thai teachers who remeber this school as one of the best in Thailand. They are ashamed of the way this school has gone so badly downhill. I know from talking to people in other parts of Thailand that Bodin was known all over Thailand as a good school. What has gone on and is still going on is a disgrace and something should be done.

Have heard some odd things lately about what is going on at this school. Anyone know anything or would like to send me PM. I can not say for sure yet but watch your backs Farang teachers at this school.

Actually, the after hours classes are common in the 'better' schools throughout Thailand.  Many teachers double their salaries with a few extra weekend or evening classes.  The more unscrupulous teachers will let the students or their parents quietly know that test material will be covered in private classes but not in the regular classes.  The next time you see a Thai teacher aparently wasting time in class, it may be because she doesn't want to do too good a job there and spoil her cash cow.

Yes that about hots the spot. This school is blatently using there after school classes to grab cash off the parents. The teacher who does this lets everybody know what she is doing. I did not let on that I spoke some Thai.
