I went out yesterday and couldn't even get soaked with water.

Yeah, I am proud of having a legit degree, I don't have lie and weasel my way around anymore and I can adopt a holier than thou attitude.

Because I am nice, I am gonna tell you all how i used to do it before I got my legit degree.

Go on google and do a google image search, it sure makes things easier, used to, you had do a google search for .jpg and key words, now you just do the keyword search and looks for images and you can see the image before you even have to go to it.

Anyways do a google search for degree or teaching certificate or anything along those lines. Lots of people love putting their degree online. They make it available for the whole world to see. Some of the results will be for degree mills so avoid those. You want to get several samples to have a good look at.

There were always two paths available, modify an exisiting one or create a new one from scratch. Both paths have its advantages. I always went with the create a new one from scratch way. Modifiying an exisiting one means you have to  blend your name and degree into the exisitng document, not always easy and can be prone to errors in fonts, etc. Creating a new one removes those headaches and this what I will talk about.

Since you now have several samples of finished products, you can make your own degree. Choose a small, little known university, less chance you will meet someone who actually went to the school. You need to get ahold of a seal for the university, again google is your friend. It is usually better to find a bunch of university seals and THEN choose what small school you will use, but never mind. If you are willing to put in a little effort, seals for any university can be found online.

Now get to work, you can make it Microsoft Word, but you should really try to find better software for making the design, publisher is nice. But the right program is up to you.  You will notice most degrees have the same wording. Figure out when you want to have your graduation date and then make up the degree.

Printing can be a witch, if it is an American university, remember degrees can be printed in many sizes, but 8/12 x 11 is the most popular size.....and 8 /12 by 11 is not the same as A4. Using A4 is the quickest way to detect a fake American degree. Office supply stores in Bangkok sell 8 1/2 x 11 stock and all the other bells and whistles.

Transcripts are another story altogether.....

(This was posted as an informational piece, but don't do it on your own)

Dumbo,

I'm curious which school you used.  I did a similar BS in Business through Excelsior College.  I spent 18 months going through the University of Phoenix online but they were so expensive (US $1k/month).  Once I took a closer look at the CLEP/DANTES/Excelsior exams then that was clearly the way to go.  I actually spent 4 years working on my degree because I had a demanding day job.

Going with a 'conventional' bachelors degree would literally take a decade part-time.  That's simply not realistic and I couldn't afford to just 'go to school' like people with rich parents can.  One of my favorite rants about education is that you either have to be smart (which usually results from having smart parents), have wealthy parents, or be a minority in order to get a college degree in the US.

A guy like me who had two parents that were laborers (read: I was more educated than them from about 6th grade onward) but has a 2.4 GPA (no chance at a scholarship) is utterly screwed.  You can't get enough loans (due to qualification rules...if my parents were disabled or unemployed then I would have gotten grants) to cover *all* expenses.  The working poor in the US are pretty much hung out to dry when it comes to education.  Most of my friends joined the military...I enlisted but was rejected due to asthma.

Oh, well.  It worked out for me but I've seen this story replayed many times.

I already had most of the upper division classes completed already so I just needed credits in order to reach 120 credits, I actually went to 126 because I wanted to add a few classes to my transcript. Yes, I did go the Excelsior College route. I think it is the best route for Americans who want a degree but dont have the time to study. I usually took 2 to 3 exams per sitting so it didnt taske me long to finish it. The last exam I took, the DSST Russian one I studied the most for because I thought it would be hard. I ended up getting a 70 on it.
