Money Making Lesson #2
« on: September 26, 2007, 09:38:16 PM »
Ok, it's been awhile. I got caught up in a few things and forgot about these lessons. Never fear, man. I'm back and I got you the goods. I see there was some interest in making some money.  :2cents:

 :banana:

I hope you got the sample blog up and running, but like Thai students you're probably waiting for the whole series before you even get started. Get started, now!

Ok, you got 10 posts up on your blog. It's much but it's a start. Now, sign up for Google Adsense. If your posts are topical, Google's gonna approve you and you can start adding ads to the site very soon.

Google Adsense pays shit, but money is money. It's gonna be the gravy as you'll see in future lessons, but might as well start making the gravy now.

Now that you got up ads on your site, don't stop making posts. Make a new post every 3 to 4 days related to your topic.

Truthfully, you got a site, but you ain't shit for traffic. You need to get traffic to your site. Instead of going to a different lesson for this, I'll just make this lesson bigger.

You need to start visiting blogs, preferably something like dofollow blogs. Google is your friend.  Start making topical comments on them and include your blog address. Instead of wasting time on forums like Ajarn and making 10,000 posts about games, spend that time getting comments put on blogs. I suggest 15 to 20 of them a day for 2 weeks. You'll get search engine ranking and traffic. Keep it up. In two weeks, you'll have more or less 250 links.

Blog comments ain't gonna give you a lot of quality links. For quality links, you need to get listed in a few article directory. In your niche area of your blog, write about 10 400 word articles about your subject and submit them one a day to a site like ezinearticles.com. After they accept your articles, start pimping the articles out to other article directories.  I'd suggest 5 to 10 of them and within 2 weeks, you'll probably have more than 100 links.

350 backlinks ain't much but it's a start. If you kept posting for the two weeks as well, you'll have close to 15 posts up on your site and 350 backlinks. Now it's time to look to increase your income. That's for lesson 3.

Well judging by the amount of replies to lesson one, and then the views for lesson two, I'm sure a few have been trying out your ideas  {-}

Is this something you have done yourself?

I have a question. And I'm just being lazy asking you rather than trying to find the answer on-line.
How does google adsense pay people? direct deposite? a check? can they pay me anywhere in the world? will I owe tax on that money in the US?

I ask because I pulled all my capital out of the US percisely because I wanted to make sure that I owed zero tax there. I don't want to pay taxes to the US government. I can file, but I want that bottom line to remain 0.

Yes they can direct deposit, yes they can send a check. If you're a US citizen then they report the income to the IRS and you have to claim it as business income and pay self employment tax on it.

You could have your husband sign up for an account in Mexico. I don't know the payment options in Mexico, but they either send a check or deposit into the bank account in Mexico.

Hmmm, that would probably work, I was thinking if I did a website (like I need more things to do!) it would be about modern day Mixtec culture, there are several sites about ancient Mixtec culture, but not a lot of today, my husband and I have actually talked about opening a very small scale cultural tourism company on the side so a website would be a logical start....
