Topic: Teachers Council Of Thailand - Required Certification for Teaching License

A while back there was a concern that the Teachers Council of Thailand was going to try and institute a policy of certifying teachers via a "course" that covered things like Thai culture and business ethics.  This certification was to be necessary in order to get a TL.

I heard a rumor from a very good friend that only NINE suckers ah teachers in all of Thailand have taken the course.  He also said that due to the inital overall success of the scam...ah..program that the project would be reevaluated.

I asked him where he got the info at and he said the TCT website. 

I can find the website at http://www.ksp.or.th/mainpage_en/index.php but none of the links work. 

Perhaps someone that can read Thai can look at the front page and comment.

As is true of an awful lot of Thai (especially government) websites IME.  It seems like they get a team in to make a fancy looking homepage and then send them all off for somtam and pocket the cash that was due to be spent on setting up and maintaining a working website!

Mind you with the Minister for ICT so firmly anti-internet who can blame them!

Regarding the teaching certification, I personally made enquiries at my school regarding this ..... blank faces was the predictable response
