Do not bother it is our school and its amazing turnover of staff (Pan Asia Islamic School) run by certified head cases with no degrees, and full of crap all Little Hitlers.

The last position holder (Kindergarten Co-ordinator) had no background at all his only claim to fame was he boasted of having worked at something like 35 yes 35 schools in his  7 years here in Thailand.He couldn't even organise a meeting plus M.N. got his knife in too.

The school had a great co-ordinator before,his problem was he knew what he was doing so M.N worked the guy out of the door.No do not go near Pan Asia Islamic School at any cost.

By the way the salary level is also pure conjecture too.

Be very careful Good2b-happy as that is nothing but PAIS (Pan-Asia Islamic School) hiding behind an agency as they've earned themselves a bad reputation and had to start using an outside agency. Much of these is due to this forum and this thread:

It's up to you to make up your mind but believe me when I say money is not worth the trouble you will get yourself into at this place.

P.S. Can you give us an idea as to where you saw their ad so that we can be on the lookout and warn other teachers ? They used to advertise for teachers on a...n.com as PAIS (Pan-Asia Islamic School), but I haven't come across any of those lately (except one for a Student Affairs Coordinator on the 25th of October).

If you did apply you'd be better off going to directly to Pan Asia.  Get a bit more money that way.  Good thing is that you don't have to be qualified, they don't check any claims, ( they operate on a don't ask, don't tell policy)- it's not muslim like to lie to the parents- bad news is, it's a revolving door.

Thanks for the clearification mate. Actually me mate worked for a complete year as a Business Communication and Report Writing teacher with The Confab. He had loads of good things to say about them. I think The Confab was paying him 1100 baht an hour for doing three hours a day (in the evenings), five days a week in one of the multi-national companies.

If anyone's wondering go ahead and send an email to the confab.  They will hire you over the phone and send you to pan asia school.  If you don't believe me, try it.  You don't get professional teachers for around 300 baht an hour.  Never have, never will.  Why do you think the good business english schools pay 600- 800 baht an hour?  Not for fun.  They do it to get high quality teachers.  If you could get quality teachers for 300 then no one would pay more than that.

I am going to tell you straight from the horses mouth how the confab works  regarding Pan Asia School.

I was sent to Pan Asia school by the agency with many promises the The Confab then charged me 45,000Baht paid in 2 monthly installment's taken from my salary by Pan Asia School the agency also charged the school 45,000 Baht too a total of 90,000Baht for one placement there were 3 of us placed at the school 270,000 Baht good income for doing nothing.We since find out reputable agents don't charge the teachers they charge the school

We were promised visa's and work permits by The Confab, now I find as an agent they can't do that for us so again I and my fellow mates from The Confab are on visa runs again.The contract we signed says we are not able to work for Pan Asia school for three years if we leave the school too.

The two people who run The Confab are running an unregistered business as I have found out and also there is close connection between The Confab and Mr.M.N. who gets a cut of the monies involved in the deal it is the old Indian dispora working again.I am going to make a complaint to the Labour department about this agency as they are not legal at all.

M.N. says he will buy us from the agency and then it will all be right and we will be able to get our work permits no problem.I think it is all a pack of lies.

My advice is stay away from The Confab  as it is all part of Pan Asia school.We went to them because we found it hard to get jobs for various reasons but The Confab and Pan Asia School have conned us out of money and we are at risk from the authorities as we are not legally employed propely.

sodslaw is involved with this scheme we are sure sodslaw works at Pan Asia School too thats why he or she protects The Confab and Pan Asia School.Why did sodlaw use a Thai word Ja an expression of affection when he or she last posted ? Is they Thai or Indian or a farang we wonder ?

Please let me remind you it doesn't take much for a school to put two and two together.  Your privacy is important to this forum.

There has been one poster that says that Confab is a reputable agency.  This poster has been recently active in the discussions about the Confab and PAIS.   Snott, you haven't posted recently. 

I'm not taking sides in this.  Let me make that clear.  But when one poster visits once in a blue moon just to make a place look bad, my first thought is TROLL!  Admittedly I might be wrong.

Lastly, anyone stupid enough to pay 45K for a job teaching in Thailand really does need to spend more time talking with teachers both in person and on forums.  TelfWatch is committed to help teachers not make these kind of insanely stupid mistakes in the future.

I am not a troll I visit this site almost daily ,I see no reason to post unless it concerns me that is why you don't see many posts from me.But I read every day that was before this post started too.

When you have a wife and child to support and family to and have only worked in language schools for about 28.000 a month no holidays no help with visa or w.p.no sickness insurance it was I thought worth paying out for the job,now I know I was wrong.I went to ABAC for my teaching papers and had to pay for that myself,i'm only trying to make a living you know.

In response to both the public and indeed the P.M I shal now start to explain briefly why there were problems in obtaing reasonable employment.
First my track record of employers is vast and getting references has been like herding cats,along with this is the fact that my personal life has indeed put pressure on me at times.
Each time I went for interview at a school I got the comment you don' have enough experience in teaching children as all my work had been in language schools.
Result no chance to prove myself,I am a  man with a florid complexion and was told you will scare the kids and there parents too.
You only have tefl not degree,I went toABAC and got a teaching degree, lots of schools dont know it or wont take it
Aged 40 ish to old or sometimes too young,demonstration lessons good but to advanced for age level etc.
I was desperate I have a wife and a child and we live separate as I couldnt earn enough to keep us together now I have the money and we reunited but it has been hell.
I have found a new job in a good school who have hired me and no probation to,i get 50000 a month in full sorry less tax and dont have to pay commission fee the are doing work permit and family insurance for health and life to all free.
Police checks very hard to do if you have been here for 7-8 years and dont have family in England who can do things for you and a lot o f money too
Give me a chance was all I asked to learn and grow into your system ,no school will do it so I turned to Confab which proves again the place Thailand has some bad liberty taking people in it.I turned to tefl watch as it stuck up for teachers we have no union this forum was our safety net and I hope it always will be.

Cole slaw or whatever your name is, I'm not angry at Pan Asia or the Confab.  I commented on both threads because they are related.  For example, Confab sends teachers to Pan Asia.  I also wanted to advise a teachers applying through the confab to just go straight to Pan Asia instead and get more money that way.  I know they pay three hundred baht and hour, because the person defending them said that they did.  That's also the rate they advertise on ajarn.com.

Snott what you have said above is an outright lie! Let me prove it.
You say that the agency charged you and the school 45K Thai baht each (90K for one placement). Then you say that the agency promised you work permit? How on earth is this possible? If the agency is charging 45k each then it obviously means that you are being sold to the school. If you are sold to school why on earth the agency would get you a work permit?  Isn't it the school's responsibility then? And if you are being sold to the school, by agency, as you calim then the agency has no right to put 3 years restriction on you. Are you that dumb?

Hmmmm The Confab an unregistered business eh? One would wonder why they have rented such a big space in a luxurious office building if they are running an unregistered business? Perhaps they are bitten by a mad dog? Guess how much is the rent for that office building?  If they are running an unregistered business then you should waste no time. Go ahead and make a complain. Why did I use "Ja". You didn't get it dumb head, did you? Check out the meaning of "sarcasim" in dictionary perhaps only then you will know why.
