Has anyone worked for this school? The position is through Ideal English.

Is this area of Nonthaburi fairly rural? Or is it quite a lot like Bangkok???

Lindsay L.

I worked for Ideal for while and what an experience, the fellow staff members I worked with were passable but there were some weird people there at my old school. Strange American man who stared at people all the time and taught science using videos never a lab he's gone now, a weird woman who was a man but had  sex change surgery and strange lesbian type too. The manager for the Ideal was manager of a burgher joint in the U.S. a backpacker who married the owners daughter. Money not good, holidays laughable, working hours good finish and go home, Many worse agents to work for in Bangkok so do your thing if it is no good walk away, I refused me new cotract as no money for a rise and no backup.Working in Bangkok when I come back and making more than Ideal paid me.

I was going to work there, but after visiting the school I backed out.  I just didn't feel comfortable in the area.  It seemed really out of the way.  At the time I had only been in Thailand for a couple of months though.  I probably would be okay living there now.  Visit the school and area before agreeing to work there.

Pay wasn't so bad: with housing allowance I think it was almost 40,000.  Plus you get the 30,000 end of contract bonus.  Vacation time is a joke though.

Thanks for the info...

I could I ask more about the area of town...where was it and why did you initially feel uncomfortable?

It's on Tiwanon Road, but that's a pretty long road I think.  Back then I really cared about easy access to central BKK.  I just wasn't comfortable.  Like I said, now it wouldn't bother me so much.
