Topic: How many teaching hours do you teach per week?

How many hours a week do you teach? Does your school keep you busy or do they keep you bored with lots of free time on your hands?

On average I do about 12 hours a week or so, but it varies quite a lot. Some weeks I can be teaching 20 hours or more and the next it might be only be 3 hours. However the school keeps me busy doing other things when I don?t have much teaching.

Currently only have 8.5 teaching hours per week and all on a Sunday!  Too many on a Sunday and that's for sure - hopefully not much longer!

I will soon be leaving the weekday desk job though and will be back to the grind with 15 periods a week next semester - about 12 hours I suppose.

This Sunday gig will hopefully be over soon too - I'm helping a friend out with a new language school while he's building up his business before taking on a full-timer (although I have a sneaky feeling it may run and run )

I'm scheduled for 22 every week but it's a very rare week I actually teach them all. My school has so many exam days and other events that it's hard to plan any continuity when I might see one class twice as often as another at the same grade in the course of a month.

15 hours a week, evenly spread out to three hours a day. Additionally, all classes have a break in between them so I have a chance to review my lessons. Overall, a real sweet gig.

Yeah, I have taught 35 to 40 hours in a week in the past and even now I can't imagine how I managed to deliver decent lessons. 15 to 20 hours a week seems to be a good amount, any less and I get lazy and any more my lessons begin to suffer.

I start to have small panic attacks if it goes upto 14 which it sometimes has to.
