Yeah, the OP in his post upstairs points out that the farang doesn't have any authority or powers of arrest, interrogation, investigation, no uniform or insignia---so it would seem that the Thai Government wants translators who also would provide the incidental teaching of English to the TP.
Given that the farang would need a work permit to provide such professional services, I might well reconsider my initial negative reaction to participating in the program.
So, accordingly, that'll be Baht 500 per hour please for professional services rendered to law enforcement officials of the Thai Government, professional services such as translation and the incidental teaching of English to the TP as we sit around chatting or gab while strolling along the beach; professional services rendered by a farang who already has a non immi b visa and a work permit and who would need an additional work permit to be accepted into the program.
