Udon Thani Options?

My better half comes from Udon. I am being "persuaded" that we might, at some future time, move up there.

I am not a newbie, and am aware that it may be a bit quiet up there. We have visited several times

Can anyone comment re. the teaching options up there? I am experienced, and have worked in unis and language schools.

Has anyone worked in the rajabhat, colleges or schools there?

I believe that there is at least one private language school (with a bad name, judging by comments on here).

Any insights or comments would be helpful.

Udon is a nice town.  Teaching there may be an entirely different story.  There was a scandal last year involving an agency and a bunch of Flips.  It was a pay to work scheme.  Maybe some of the other members here can refresh our memories.

You would be close to the border, which can be a plus.  But, keep in mind, they refused entry to a 63 yo man from Chiang Mai last week because he didn't have an onward ticket.
