Bangkok Emergency Rule Looms -elephants be warned !!!
« on: May 24, 2007, 11:16:57 pm »
Things could get a tad heated next week as verdicts are announced on leading members of Thai political parties. Theoretically, individuals and entire parties could be banned from taking part in forthcoming elections. The PM will be absenting himself on a prior engagement.  {j<o>

The Chief of Police is already waving his baton and has threatened action against mahouts if they bring their elephants to town.

Both mahouts and their elephants would be arrested.  ::)  Surely one more reason for teacher's to ensure their paperwork is 100% legal, as I imagine sharing a cell with Jumbo could prove to be  ;Duncomfortable.

Speaking of dumb, there's already talk of amnesty for TRT. The prohibition against political parties becoming active is terminated, so we can be sure that the vote buying has already started.
